RUSSIAN REGIONS AT EURASIAN WEEK IN ARMENIA
Entrepreneurs from Vladimir, Volgograd, Ivanovo, Kostroma, Lipetsk, Saratov and Yaroslavl regions participated in the major international EAEU forum “Eurasian Week”.
This forum was organized by the Eurasian Economic Commission with the support of the EAEU member countries’ governments. In 2018 more than 2,500 people from 25 countries visited forum’s events, including round tables, expert discussions, exhibitions and procurement sessions.
The forum’s program started with the plenary meeting themed “The Real Sector of the EAEU Economy: Enhancing the Potential in the Course of Integration”. Among the plenary meeting speakers there were the first deputy Chairman of the Russian Government, Minister of Finance A. Siluanov, Prime-Minister of Armenia N. Pashinyan, Co-Chairman of the EEC Board T. Sarkisyan. The event was focused on effective cooperation between the business and the state for sustainable economic growth, expanding business contacts between EAEU enterprises, involving non-EAEU trade partners to fruitful cooperation.
Export potential of Russian regions was represented at forum’s exhibition venue that attracted potential partners from Armenia, Georgia, Iran and other countries. The procurement session with the leading Armenian trade networks was also conducted in the framework of the Eurasian Week.
The Russian delegation members participated in the expert session themed “Small and Medium-Sized Exporters as Drivers of the EAEU Development”. The discussion was moderated by RASMEX Executive Director Yuri Shurygin and centered on improving the export support policy. During the session the heads of Russian regional export support centers shared their best practices and new approaches used in their activity.
Besides, the business mission participants held B2B negotiations during an international matchmaking session and visited specialized companies and relevant organizations in Yerevan. In total, each Russian company conducted 7 negotiations with potential trade partners. In the course of these meetings Russian companies succeeded in communicating with potential buyers of their production and came to a discussion on the details of future export supplies.
The business mission program of Russian regions to Armenia was organized by the Association of Small and Medium-Sized Exporters. The comprehensive business program allowed Russian companies to use the resources of the exhibition, negotiations and expert venues for the real development of their export activity in the most effective way.
